Sachin Tendulkar Retires!

NEW DELHI: Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, who was struggling with his poor form, on Sunday decided to quit from the one day format of the game. In a letter to BCCI, Tendulkar has announced his retirement from the ODIs. 

The development came just before the selectors were to pick the squad for the ODI series againstPakistan, starting from December 30. 

"I have decided to retire from One Day cricket. I feel blessed to have been a part of the World Cup winning Indian team," Tendulkar said. 

Tendulkar has scored 18426 runs in 463 ODIs at an average of 44.83. He has also slammed 49 centuries and 96 half-tons during his 23-year old career. 

Tendulkar is the only cricketer in the history of the game to score 100 international tons. He also holds the record of becoming the first man to score a double ton in ODIs.
